in situ is an exploration of identity and the self through the lens of culture and place.
Indonesian-Australian Juliet Burnett and French-Belgian Victor Polster dive into a dialogue: traversing liminal terrain into the real and the fantasised, the private and the performative, and provocations of imposed cultural expectations and binary definitions.
We are not still; ancient and new waves vibrate from internal and external forces, for which we are all vessels in time.

The creative team of in situ extends the intention of the work: meeting across cultures and creating new dialogues. Renowned Australian percussionist and composer Will Guthrie has worked extensively in Indonesia and utilises traditional Indonesian gamelan instruments. Meanwhile Belgian Veerle Van Den Wouwer has an extensive experience working with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and further brings the identity of Antwerp, the place in which in situ was created, to the work.
