Juliet Widyasari Burnett Classes

What should I expect?

Juliet is one of those people who has to leave a room if there's bad vibes, so she consciously cultivates a relaxed environment where a lol is more than welcome. Having said that, she believes that before freedom comes discipline, and has been told once that her fondu exercises are "pure much-needed evil". She carefully selects class music in the hope of optimising your fullest expression.

If you have any particular needs, or injuries, or just in need of a hug, she's all ears.

Who’s Juliet?

Juliet is a dancer and choreographer with an international career spanning 23 years with The Australian Ballet, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Dutch National Ballet, West Australian Ballet and Chunky Move. She is Indonesian-Australian, a quadruple Scorpio and certified dork, and loves nothing more than working on her projects with her collaborators across artforms, seeing live music, being an aunty and hanging with her heeler-cross pup Kliwon at home in the Gold Coast.

Juliet’s classes really give me the space to reconnect to the curiosity of the body through ballet - reminding me that everything is connected to an inner world, and with her I am retraining how I understand it. She’s also super cool and heaps fun!
— Lily Potger, Dancer, Australasian Dance Collective
Juliet’s class blends a love of movement with deep expertise, creating an environment that’s both engaging and inspiring. Drawing on years of experience in the classical and contemporary dance space, she offers insight that goes beyond technique alone. Her thoughtful guidance and light humour make each class feel lively, supportive, and rich with artistic perspective.
— Adam Alzaim, Choreographer and Leading Artist, West Australian Ballet
Juliet’s classes are a great balance of the challenge you need in a class and at the same time very fun and well-curated. Everyone feels supported and guided no matter what level you are at with ballet. She brings positive energy and a great playlist!
— Zee Zunnur, Independent Choreographer and Dancer
I really appreciate the fresh perspective and knowledge Juliet brings into the studio: the deep understanding of pure classical movement reframed to a contemporary context. Both the openness and clarity is definitely felt.
— Taiga Kita Leong, Dancer, Australasian Dance Collective
Juliet’s classes are a joy to experience. Her demonstrations are beautiful and clear, and she brings a wonderful sense of musicality to everything she teaches. The atmosphere in her classes is warm and inspiring - a truly lovely space to learn and dance.
— Neneka Yoshida, Principal Artist, Queensland Ballet
Juliet is a talented and experienced teacher. She will make you feel welcome and foster your love of ballet whether you are a beginner or more experienced. I highly recommend her beautiful classes.
— Leisa Jones, adult ballet student, Melbourne
Juliet’s classes balance the structure of classical ballet with a grounded sense of movement. She guides dancers to find their center, feeling lifted through the body while still weighted. It’s a class of movement with stability, clarity, and ease.
— Alexa Tuzil, Principal Artist, West Australian Ballet
Juliet’s classes are an absolute hoot! It’s just the right amount of anatomical pointers, fun analogies, textured physicality in exercises, laughs, individual corrections and musical bangers (both classical & electronic)! Perfect for a beginner, professional or someone who wants to get back into the art form in a setting that is welcoming & supportive.
— Lilly King, Dancer, Australasian Dance Collective
